an essential manual for the minister of the gospel or the lay minister

5 stars based on size and content. This minister's manual is small. Hand sized/pocket sized. Between this manual and the Nelson's KJV minister's manual I'm prepared for whatever ministry throws my way. My only 2 gripes on this manual is it lists scripture from various translations. I prefer the KJV but this uses the old RSV which is not widely used today, the second gripe is that it has a WHITE ribbon marker. Black would've been better seeing as how this will be used. The ribbon marker will become dirty, and I probably will have to cut it off. Other than those two things this book is going to be used and treasured till I have to replace it from wearing it out. BTW it also had a list of easter Sundays from 1969-2012.. It's 2014 so I don't think I'll be needing it much lol. I really like how every situation has a "guiding principles" section, so instead of it being a how to manual it just let's you have the freedom to go with the flow while still offering guidance to accomplish tasks that need accomplished. That's lacking in my Nelson's manual. All in all I recommend it for anyone in ministry or about to go into ministry.

A Good Tool

This manual has a good overview of services for just about any type of service a minister is called upon to perform. From full funerals to graveside services. it is a good tool to have.
