About the Author
Mary Kassian is an award winning author, internationally renowned speaker, and a distinguished professor at Southern Baptist Seminary. She has published several books, Bible studies and videos, including: In My Father's House: Finding Your Heart's True Home, Conversation Peace, Vertically Inclined, the Feminist Mistake, and Girls Gone Wise - in a World Gone Wild. Mary graduated from the faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine from the University of Alberta, Canada and has studied systematic theology at the doctoral level. She has taught courses at seminaries across North America She is a popular conference speaker and has ministered to women's groups internationally. Mary has appeared on numerous radio and television shows, including Focus on the Family, Family Life Today, and Marriage Uncensored.
Mary was born and raised in Edmonton, Canada. She and her husband, Brent, have three sons: Clark, Matthew, and Jonathan. Mary has mastered the art of cheering after spending countless hours in rinks, arenas, and gyms: her husband is chaplain for a professional football team, her two older sons play ice hockey, and her youngest, volleyball. The Kassians enjoy biking, hiking, snorkeling (when they can find some warm water!), music, board games, mountains, campfires, and their family pets: Miss Kitty and black lab, General Beau.

Excellent source for personal or group reflection

If you are looking for a book to challenge your thinking about the power of your tongue, or a catalyst for rich discussion in your local bible study group, this is the book for you! Mary presents seven speech transforming tools to help us recognize that our tongues control the direction of our lives. In addition, each chapter showcases a bible verse to memorize and practical application to help improve our daily communication techniques.

Wonderful Study for Women's Groups

Our women's Bible study at church just finished studying this book together, so I'm thrilled to be able to wholeheartedly recommend it. This book is fantastic!
If you could use some help learning how to speak more like Christ, Mary Kassian will teach you seven powerful speech-transforming elements that can change your life, as well as those you come in contact with daily.
The accompanying video is also so much fun to watch. Each episode takes place outdoors - allowing viewers to "visit" the beach, a castle, a cranberry farm, an elaborate garden, a railroad, and even board a ship to learn more about navigational tools.
Kassian applies the natural world to the spiritual, and these lessons stuck with us so much we found ourselves talking about the book with our friends, husbands and children long after the study was over.
I have completed so many women's group studies, and I have to say, this one is my absolute favorite. (P.S. Mary Kassian has a lovely Canadian accent, and she's a joy to listen to!)

Get the Update

Great Book but this author has an update which is better for a Bible Study. This book has no fill in the blanks and we think the newer version is arranged better and allows the reader to look up answers and write them on a blank.
