Moore is bent on proclaiming a message of renewal and spiritual combativeness against the defeatism so common in today's churches. With her typical can-do style, she energetically espouses that the main reason God has kept his believers on earth after their conversions is so they might "succeed" in the here and now. Why then, are so many Christians living lives of mediocrity? Quoting Hebrews 3: 19, Moore says the primary reason is "unbelief." She uses the biblical Joshua's story of faith, belief and courage to admonish contemporary Christians. Moore also presents a five-point system to stimulate the weak-kneed to victory, encouraging readers to speak the following statements aloud throughout the day: "God is who He says He is. God can do what He says He can do. I am who God says I am. I can do all things through Christ. God's Word is alive and active in me." Bible study enthusiasts will flock to this newest offering from Moore, a popular author with a sterling reputation. But while biblically accurate, much of the book is wordy and repetitive. A little restraint might have given this garrulous resource the zing it now lacks.

Her unabashed devotion to God is in high gear. Even with Burr's balanced narration toning this down, the emphasis is decidedly on letting go, letting God. The bold faith Moore advocates is tastefully supported by biblical passages, but it has enough personal stories to make the audio more universally human than religious. Few teachers and writers have this author's grace when it comes to explaining that unfettered belief in God's love and benevolence is the only effective path to the life we deserve. Another Amazing Study!

I've been a part of a few Beth Moore Bible studies through my local church, but I'd have to say that this is my favorite. In many ways, Beth teaches a lot of basic truths that will really help new believers, but she also delves into some amazing depths to fuel the fire for those who have been in the faith longer.

Believing God sounds like such a simple proposition, but I struggle daily to find my "mustard seed of faith". Thank you, Beth, for giving me real tools to exercise my faith not just on the really good days or really bad days, but every single day!!! I'll never move any mountains, but I am certainly not afraid to ask God to move one for me now because God is who He says He is, God can do what He says He can do, I am who God says I am, I can do all things through Christ, and God's word is alive and active in me....and I remind myself of these truths every day! Thanks for delivering such a profound, life saving message in a practical way that I can comprehend and apply to my life.

Fresh Fruit in Season and out of season

I just finished this study on the Fruits of the Spirit. Beth writes with depth and understanding.The study guides can be used with the DVD lessons. I didn't have the video lessons, but was able to download the Viewer Guide answers on the LifeWay website. Her Bible studies can be done as a group or independent study. This one I did on my own through the summer months. I really enjoy Beth's writing style and have done several of her Bible studies. I especially like how she weaves the Hebrew or Greek language into the lessons.
